6 Macro Photography Ideas you can try at home | How to click Macro Pictures using Mobile Phone

There are some really beautiful tiny creatures in this lovely world, which you can capture using various Macro Photography techniques. Macro Photography is a unique form of photography which involves clicking small objects which make them look larger and more detailed in the photograph. But many of us don't have Digital SLR cameras. But this doesn't mean we can't click macro pictures. Macro pictures can also be beautifully taken using Mobile Phones. Some Mobile devices nowadays come up with inbuilt macro cameras. But if it is not the case with you, there are various Macro Lens available in market. You can select one of these and use them to click your macro pictures. Below I am listing some of the most useful macro lens for Mobile Photography available in market.

  • SKYVIK lens : These are one of the best mobile macro lens available in the market. They come up with various variants which you can find here. Along with macro lens, there are some other lens which you can find in the above link.
  • Amputive lens : These are also mind blowing lens which can be used to clicked Macro Pictures. You can find more information about them here.
  • If you find the above ones expensive, there are cheap ones available in the market, starting from ₹200, which are also quite good. I have been using one of these since past two years and till date, its working absolutely fine.
Following are some of the Macro Photography techniques you can absolutely try which will end up giving you some of the most magnificent pictures.

1) Insects:

Insects are some really beautiful macro creatures with their various structures and respective shapes and details. We need to be calm and quiet to make sure the insect doesn't run away.

Like this, we can click pictures of various insects and creatures.

We can take fly, butterfly, ants, bug, and many such insects and creatures as our subject.

After clicking pictures, we can apply a little editing to make our photograph look amazing.

2) Droplet:

We can click water droplet pictures using different perspectives and a variety of ways. In the image alongside, I have poured some water drops onto Aloe Vera leaf, and clicked the picture in natural daylight. The amazing component I got here is the reflection of sun on my drop which makes it look pretty good.

We can also manipulate the reflection of particular subject on our droplet. This can be done by placing the drop just in front of our subject. This will make the subject look upside down in our photograph, which is quite interesting and the picture really turns out to be extra ordinary.

We can also click droplets pictures of raindrops, droplets on the flowers, fruits, vegetables and a lot more.

3) Eye :

For clicking Eye Macro, you can click getting close to an eye, using different variations.

For the image alongside, I have clicked picture of an eye using Macro lens and then edited using Snapseed. You can find it's editing tutorial here.

You can also sprinkle some water on the eye and try capturing macro of eye lashes, which have water sprinkled on it. It gives an amazing result. I have already tried this trick, you can check out that picture on my Instagram feed.

Another thing which you can try with eye macro is clicking various reflections inside the eye. It gives wonderful results.

4) Soap:
Add sufficient amount of water with soap and form soap-water solution. Try to make bubbles of this solution. You will get amazing colorful images as one shown alongside. The patterns formed by the soap particles are really beautiful and the colors are so elegant.

The easy setup with which you can start this is as below. Have a dark setup, black preferable. With help of straw, prepare soap bubbles, and make it rest. Have a single source of light above your setup. Once everything is ready, start clicking. Using this technique, you can capture pictures of soap bubbles which look like real galaxy!

Also, this pictures barely need any editing.

5) Oil in Water:

So, I have talked about this earlier in my one of the previous posts. You can check it here.

You can stir the mixture to create various patterns of oil in water and get innovative with your pictures.

Here, I have opened a picture of a flower on a mobile phone and placed it below a glass bowl. Inside the glass bowl, I had placed some water and some drops of oil into it. Stirred the mixture numerous times to create this wonderful effect.

6) Flower:

You can click minute details of flowers using Macro lens, as shown in this picture.

You can try out different pictures with different flowers and their various components and have amazing pictures.

Minute details and their composition give amazing photographs.

In the picture alongside, I have sprinkled water droplets onto a hibiscus flower, which is looking so beautiful onto its surface.
That's the end of this post. I will come up with some really interesting posts very soon. Keep reading, keep supporting.
